Biography - 150 words

Jackie Garner is a professional wildlife artist based in Gloucestershire, England. She exhibits regularly, individually or with other artists. Exhibitions include Beckford Fine Art, the National Exhibition Wildlife Art and the Society of Wildlife Artists. She is a regular participant in the Artist in Residence programme at the Nature in Art Gallery and Museum.

Jackie works from life whenever possible, usually preferring pencil, acrylics or watercolour. Her early paintings included still life and portraiture before focusing mainly on wildlife. She has completed field trips to the Falkland Islands and Egypt to study their wildlife, and is currently illustrating a book on the wildlife art of ancient Egypt.

Jackie is the author and illustrator of The Wildlife Artist's Handbook (pub 2013, The Crowood Press).

Her artwork is held in collections as far afield as the Falklands, Trinidad, Australia and South Africa. Jackie was elected to fellowship of the RSA in 2006.
