Going
for a walk in the woods, I came across a fallen tree. The trunk had
been cut into pieces but then abandoned as a pile of logs. The process
of decay created “spalting”; varied colours separated by dark lines.
My joy at the patterns stayed with me for 35 years – I knew I would
make a painting “one day” but not how or when. That day came when I
created Force of Nature. Why choose an original painting? -
